Triple Crown Of Polo Highlights This Weekend At Aspen Valley Polo Club

CARBONDALE, Colo., August 22, 2025---Aspen Valley Polo Club's ninth tournament of the summer begins Friday with the prestigious Triple Crown of Polo at McClure River Ranch.


With a breathtaking mountain view backdrop, the fun begins Friday with three teams competing in a semifinal round robin. 

At 10:30 a.m. action begins at McClure River Ranch Field 2. Los Amigos Red (Paul Foster, Grant Ganzi, Santi Toccalino, Nacho Novillo Astrada), Los Amigos Blue (Alejandra Foster, Sugar Erskine, Nic Roldan, Hilario Figueras) and Audi (Jason Crowder, Tomacho Pieres, Alejandro Novillo Astrada) will play a round robin with the scores carrying over into Sunday's final.

Avatar Financial Captures Rocky Mountain Open; Ryan Cronin MVP; Summer Polo Charity Classic A Success

CARBONDALE, Colo., August 18, 2025---Avatar Financial won its summer season polo debut Sunday at Aspen Vallley Polo Club. 


In front of the largest crowd of the season, Avatar Financial (Ryan Cronin, Hilario Figueras, Nic Roldan) rallied in the fifth chukker to defeat Los Amigos Red (Alejandra De La Vega Foster, Grant Ganzi, Sugar Erskine, Santi Toccalino), 9-6, and win the Rocky Mountain Open. 

Cronin was named Most Valuable Player after scoring three goals in the final two chukkers.

CARBONDALE, Colo., August 15, 2025---Aspen Valley Polo Club's eighth tournament of the summer begins Friday with the Rocky Mountain Open at McClure River Ranch.

With breathtaking mountain views, the fun begins Friday with four teams competing in the semifinals.

Action continues on Saturday with Kidz Polo on the Barn Field at 11 a.m. followed by more fun at Kodiak Lake, 3:15-8 p.m.

The Setai Captures High Alpine Cup; Jason Crowder Named MVP

CARBONDALE, Colo., August 4, 2025---The Setai won its first tournament of the summer polo season Sunday at Aspen Vallley Polo Club. 


The Setai (Silver Novillo Astrada, Jason Crowder, Nic Roldan, Alejandro Novillo Astrada) won the High Alpine Cup, the sixth tournament of the season, with a convincing 13-7 victory over Audi (Tomacho Pieres, Grant Ganzi, Santi Toccalino) in the round robin final. Mountain Chevrolet (Michael Payne, Sugar Erskine, Hilario Figueras, Nacho Novillo Astrada) finished third.

For his outstanding all-around play, Jason Crowder was Most Valuable Player.

ASPEN, Colo., December  21, 2024---Before a packed house, Casablanca won the Maroon Bells Cup Thursday at Rio Grande Park.

Casablanca (Miles Rich, Pierre Henri Ngoumou, Grant Ganzi) defeated Petrossian (Becky Schmeits, Kevin Schmeits, Sugar Erskine), 3-1.

Rich, the most improved player of the season and product of The Polo School at Wellington-based Grand Champions Polo Club, was Most Valuable Player. Rich scored all three goals in the final to add to his four-goals in the semifinals.

The Agency Captures St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship; Grant Ganzi Sweeps MVP, BPP Honors

ASPEN, Colo., December  21, 2024---On a perfect day for snow polo, first-year team The Agency left a lasting impression at the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship Thursday at Rio Grande Park.

With a stunning backdrop of the snow-capped Colorado Rockies, The Agency (Grant Ganzi, Jason Crowder, Pierre Henri Ngoumou) knocked off hometown favorite St. Regis (Tony Calle, Nacho Figueras, Alejandro Novillo Astrada), 9-7, for the coveted trophy.

Grant Ganzi, 26, was named Most Valuable Player for his outstanding play including "the goal of the tournament" with a 35-yard angled shot through the air and over a defender's mallet in the final chukker. He finished with a game-high seven goals including four penalty conversions.
